Confession

I used to collect bookmarks. I would tack them on the wall, and eventually got to the point where I had a large section of my wall dedicated to them. I had some very cute ones, to be sure, and always read quickly through my books just so that I could move on to the next bookmark. If you're thinking what a nerd I am, or if you're thinking, "what is this obsession with bookmarks??" I can only suggest that the next time you go into a bookstore (Half Price Books has some of the best), take a moment to peruse the bookmarks, and see if it brings you even a tiny measure of joy when you discover one that you adore. Although I believe they stopped making the cutest things (not just bookmarks) several years ago, I occasionally stumble upon some charm (Becky Kelly makes some of my favorites).

With about 15 moves between the last bookmark wall and where I am now, I am sad to say that I have no idea where they have gone. In fact, it's probably safe to say the same about various other sentimental objects that were once so intricately a part of my life. I guess what's important is that I keep on reading, no matter what. Or maybe there's another lesson to learn...

(The bookmark up top is handmade. Which gives me a very good idea!)

  1. I love bookmarks, too! Although, I don't have many and I certainly don't tack them on my wall. :-)
